Windows Phone 8 Compass App
Recently I started teaching myself Windows Phone App Development using any online resources I could find. I created my first app 'Pretty Clock' from following a tutorial and I managed to fix many bugs that the writer hadn't thought about but the app didn't feel like it was fine because it wasn't. Now having created my second app on my own, I have learnt how to access the devices sensors like the magnetometer and after a lot of struggle I eventually managed to figure out how to use Windows Phone's Isolated Storage Settings to save users chosen settings.
Beautiful design is my passion and I find on all smartphones that there are too many apps from developers who don't have a clue about design so I have chosen to create simple apps to begin with but strive for beautiful design. I find for myself that I can't use an app if it isn't attractive and I want people to be shown great design so that in future they expect nothing less. I have spent a lot of time making the app beautiful, I created my own compass calibration image that matches the users chosen accent colour and have also added buttery smooth animations between the main page and settings page. I am really pleased with this app and I hope it does well on the Windows Phone Store!
